Dad with
Love (still being written)
So often I
find myself thinking of the times we had,
reminiscing of times both good and bad.
Those thoughts in turn remind me of your demise,
taken from us without compromise.
Our time together on earth was brief,
I now know in my heart, death was your only relief.
We were robbed of time together, times of joy and pain,
those left here on earth shall never be the same.
I know when you left you hadn’t a clue,
as to the horrible condition this disease had left you.
So I will share with you now the thoughts deep in my soul,
and tell you what caused you to relinquish control.
The sickness that took you is known as CJD,
It happened to you, it could happen to me.
It’s a mystery where it comes from and who will be affected,
Yet, there are so many others out there already infected.
